COMPUTER SYSTEM MANAGEMENT Implemented million dollar Integrated Work Information Management and Material Acquisition System. The system consisted of 120 workstations, and 55 printers tied into a mini-mainframe.

This system provided total automation of job processing, labor reporting, material ordering and processing, personnel management, and financial management.

Coordinated pre-implementation construction, hardware installation, and software installation.

Accelerated a late starting construction project to meet equipment delivery dates and software implementation schedule.

Arranged schedules, lodging, and classes to provide hands-on training to more than 300 users.

Supervised five technicians in the daily operation and programming of control processes for computer adaptation.

Assisted users with hardware and software problems.

Developed programs and reports for functional users.

 

PROJECT MANAGEMENT Directed the design, award, and construction management of 174 construction contracts valued at over $1 billion.

Coordinated the efforts of 20 project engineers, 14 project managers, and scores of foreign nation agencies.

Initiated procedures to accurately identify and record all sources of design cost; reduced annual design costs of $3.5M by over 15%.

Expedited award of design contracts and completion of concept designs. By reducing normal design/award period by 8 weeks an additional $21 million in projects were submitted for approval.

 

PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT Programmed and planned the maintenance and repair of 3,000 facilities and utility systems valued at over $100 million. Managed staff of 39 engineers and technicians. Prepared and executed $20 million annual budget.

Increased productivity by 5%. Increased capability to respond to customer requests by 25%.

Obtained funding for $2.5M in Energy Conservation projects and an additional $750,000 for facility projects.

 

RESOURCE MANAGEMENT Reallocated in-house planning technicians to support the engineering design effort which resulted in the award of over $5 million in facility projects, a 100% increase over the prior year.

Streamlined work procedures and developed computer programs which allowed a work force reduction of 15% while maintaining the same high level of efficiency.

 

SYSTEM
ANALYSIS
Analyzed plans for design deficiencies and cost efficiency. Design changes on one project alone saved $45,000 in construction costs and $25,000 in annual utility costs.

 

COMMUNI-
CATIVE SKILLS
Rewrote several technical regulations in simplified language. Clarity and comprehensiveness of these regulations reduced paperwork by almost 20% and decreased work request processing time by over 10%.

Briefing to customers on procedures for submitting and processing work requests reduced work request rejection rate by more than 15%.

Coordinated efforts of 20 project engineers, 14 project managers, and scores of American and foreign nation agencies, engineers, and contractors.
