This site provides information on
Blair genealogy in general and the roots and history of
my Blair ancestors who immigrated from Scotland to
Vermont and New Hampshire in particular. The site
contains a
searchable database of
over 11,600 Blair births and christenings and over 6,800
Blair marriages in Scotland between 1550 and 1880. It
also contains detailed information on working with the
Church of Latter Day Saints Family History Center Old
Parish Records (LDS-FHC) OPRs, a listing of almost 200
BLAIR publications,
Other Blair
Families (submitted by
other Blair researchers) and
links to other BLAIR sites.

My ancestry dates back to Stirlingshire Scotland,
in the early 1700s. My earliest known Blair ancestor is
Donald Blair born about 1700. The first of our Blairs to
come to America was Donald's grandson, Robert Blair, who
came to Vermont in 1785. His nephew Peter Blair, my
gr-gr grandfather came to Vermont in the 1830s. We have
found letters from Robert's father, John Blair, and
other Blair family members in Scotland to Robert in
Vermont, dated between 1786 and 1816.
We hope that other Blairs, descendants of Blairs, and
those who are familiar with Blair families find this
information helpful and can fill in many of the missing
branches of the Blair family tree.
